nick lee on first page of search engine

had nothing much to do, thus i did something that everybody will do once in a while.

i put my name into search engines (=

and guess what i found..

Google.com (1st page)

yahoo.com.sg (1st page)

both results appeared in page 1 of search engines =D
looks like my mini effort in tweaking works...

yahoo and google really does give different results.

On a localised base,
on google.com.sg, i will be on page 2
on yahoo.com.sg i be on page 1

On a international search base,
on google, i be on page 1,
on yahoo.com, i lazy to search beyond the 5th page.

The reason could be google does its algorithm based on server location. and i do not think that that blogger is based in Singapore. And probably most of my traffic are based overseas. According to Google analytics, most of my visitors come from US

Whiles for yahoo, its search algorithm defines that i am logging into www.nickleelifestyle.com thru a Singapore IP address, which is the reason why it rank me higher in Singapore.

According to Chrome, i have only 1 backlink. But based on Yahoo site explorer, i had 20+ links linking to me, and most are based on my facebook bejeweled blitz post. lol.
But But But, on google webmaster, almost a 100 links were pointing back at me. And internal links were included. Which in a way makes me believe that Site Explorer is more accurate in their reporting.

Algorithm messed up ? Or what, no one knows, only the engineers at yahoo and google know the true algorithm

  1. Nice article. However ip address is most important for for all domain creation and also for the search engines, web hosting etc., By the way you can chk the number of ip address search from ip search at free of cost
