Kelloggs Cornflakes vs Nestle Cornflakes Review

Kelloggs Cornflakes 325gNestle Cornflakes 275g

With reference to living on a budget, cornflakes have been my biscuit and milk for the past few weeks as my supper. I get amazingly hungry at night, yet my pants are getting looser. ~_~

Due to the economical pricing of Nestle cornflakes at $3.52 for 275g,Nestle cornflakes was my main choice for the past 2 months, however, Kelloggs being a veteran in the cornflakes market, caught up and gave an even better promotion which caused me to purchase 2 boxes at 1 shot.

350g at $3.40 for a kelloggs cornflakes is certainly cheap to me. It is cheaper and gives more! What can i ask for. Typically their pricing for a 350g cornflakes hovers in the $5-6 range, hence the switch.

I just hope that air and cardboard is not included in the 350g

The taste overalls appeals to me as well. The childhood taste of eating cornflakes.

Kelloggs cornflakes are not as "soggy" as nestle's. They are much crispier to begin with. And they will not lose their "hardness" that easily in milk as compared to Nestle's. After a 10minute milk bath, they are still "hard"

Probably Nestle need to give their cornflakes some 'extra' ingredient to ensure they can maintain their hardness.

If Kelloggs is maintaining this pricing, high chance i am going to be their customer for a long time~

Singapore Steward RiverBoat Review - Dining on a boat

Another food review by me! Seems like i am on an eating streak this few days.

RiverBoat Dining, Romantic!

A first for me, to dine and wine on a boat, except that this boat is stationary, only swaying lightly to the push of the wave. The only time i ate on water was when i am travelling to batam. ~_~

There are 4 layers on this cruise, the bottom and second layer is airconditioned. We prefer the upper deck which has sea breeze. The air conditioning area will be more suitable for the afternoon lunch crowd rather than the evening crowd.

We move up, by ourselves to the 3rd layer, (4th layer was just the top of the boat, with no dining tables) which was the grill and bbq area.

Food was marvellous and affordable. They serve mostly western food, but they have local cuisine as well. With promotions, the food became much more affordable.

3 sticks of prawn, 1 big piece of chicken leg & and generous serving of mackeral with sambal chilli, with unlimited fries / rice and a mug of beer, coupled with the cool sea breeze for only $24-25 ++. Excellent pricing.

There are several variation to the promotion above, thus check out the site yourself.

The menu looks clean without any oil stain. and NEW!

If you are worried about sea sickness, they have some anti-sea sickness pills on standby.

To add on, we were droven from 1 fullerton to steward riverboard by Daryl himself on a weekend evening. The free shuttle bus service was only available on weekdays, but the young chap, specially make the effort to work on the weekends. And even to drop us at out preferred MRT station on our return trip which was along his way back home.

As he lives near my area, i was dropped at the MRT station near my house.

Definitely will return to eat for the excellent service and affordable food.

Sally Roast Meat Rice at Cactus Road - Singapore

Sally Roast Meat Rice at Cactus road - singaporeUsually i do not do food review, because i never like to take pictures of food and posing with mouth open just like those female bloggers. Maybe for them, but not for me to do a jaw expanding exercise!

But the food is simply too delicious not to share with you all. It's an unofficial crime not to share knowledge of good food in Singapore.

Just kidding. (=

And this post will be about Sally Roast Meat Rice located at Cactus Road. And where in singapore is cactus road? Its at Yio Chu Kang Road. I happened to be there doing pc servicing and was recommended the food there by my client.

Although the area there are all bungalows, the food is certainly cheap. The basic meal is $2.50 at this store. And i ordered a $3 meal, not because i wanted to, but because the stall owner told me that he does not have $0.50 to change me back.

A lame reason? But I verified by looking into his coin container. and 1 whole bowl of $1 coins, filled to the brim.

Good business! Taking a look around the store, almost everyone is eating roast meat rice! (They have 2 other stores selling food which i forgot they are selling)

A typical $3 meal anywhere in Singapore for roast meat rice, you will very little meat. And sometimes, the meat or the sauce does not taste well.

However, for a $3 meal, i get more than what i expected.

Lots of meat, with slight fats, the meat and the soft fats blends well together. Marvellous!

Slightly over roasted skin, crunchy, mixed with the meat, Tasty!

Lastly, mixed with the sauce, Heavenly!

You need a car to get there as it is pretty inconvenience to go by bus.

Have a try eating at sally roast meat rice. There are several cafes there, just look for one that is air conditioned. There is only 1. Go in and you should see the store as per roast meat rice store's image above.

Order and enjoy!
