Tips to prevent a fall at home

Ouch!
Had a fall at home in the kitchen after rushing out from the bathroom after bathing with both my feet wet. Luckily, i break my fall by using my arms, however for the unlucky others, they might even knock their heads and suffer concussion or even break their bones, esp for the elderly.
Thus to prevent you, my beloved reader, from suffering the same ordeal as me, i have pondered and gathered some simple tips to prevent a fall at home.

1) Dry your feet
I believe no explanation is needed for this

2) Keep the floor dry at all times and test how slippery the floor is when it is wet
My kitchen floor has a lot of fiction when it is dry, and never had i expected how slippery it is when it is wet. I did a test by pouring some water on the floor. And i can skate on it!
60% of the falls are contributed by wet floors!

3) Remove clutters are on the floor
Clearing them will ensure that you do not step on them and fall.

4) Ensure sufficient lighting in the house
This will ensure that you do not step on the clutters on the floor and prevent you from stepping on wet spots which will be visible with the reflection of light.

5) Place non-slip mats on "important junctions" and in the bathroom
Examples of "important junction" are
- top of the staircase
- areas of the house that require you to turn and change direction instead of walking straight
- Areas outside bathroom

6) Be alert and do not rush
Rushing will cause recklessness which could increase your chance to step on clutters and slip.

Hope they help~
