Avatar - My Thoughts

Instead of squeezing with the many others that are rushing to watch this epic movie by the director of the sinking ship, i choose to watch this near the end of its filming period. I watched the 3D version which is not very 3D.

And from the way they speak, i think i seriously need the subtitles in some parts of the movie.

Visual-wise, with or without 3D, the world of pandora is certainly a beautiful one, without the hungry humans. Floating hills, flying whatever, and dinosaur horses. Imagine more peaceful version of Lord of the rings ,without the sorcery, combined with medieval ages lifestyle, that somehow sums the background of the movie and the pandorians or the blue creatures.

Shall not dwell on the storyline which you should be able to find on other websites. Their way of taming creatures amused me. They have some kind of special hair extension which can communicate and bond with almost living thing, which also has such an extension, in their world. These hair extension is used to communicate with the horses and flying creatures and to control them.

In a particular scene where jake, the guy above on the right, has to pass a hunter test, he has to conquer a fierce flying mob by using his extension to link to the creature's mind to speak with it. And it seems as though he was trying to rape the poor ferocious creature, did the director purposely filmed the scene or was just me? :D

If there is anything that can transfer my mind out of my body, to another entity, other than a stationary tree, i love to try.

With such stunning graphics, watching it on anything less than HD quality is doing great injustice to the effort James Cameron put into the movie. Buy it only on blu ray disc and be awed by the visual effects of his fantasy world
