Long while since i had posted anything related to facebook bejeweled blitz, how since i have queries asking for multiplier gems, i decided to make a post just for this.
Well, i believed you already knew how to get multiplier gem in facebook bejeweled blitz.
In case you are unsure, allow me the honor of explaining to you.
Eliminate 12 gem in a single swap move.
But how?
I have written some tips in facebook bejeweled blitz truth, but i found out that it was not enough to explain how to get multiplier gem, hence this post is purely dedicate to explain how to easily get multiplier gem in facebook bejeweled blitz.
What is a multiplier gem?
It is a gem which can multiply your score? Marvellous? In fact, it is best and most important gem in this 1 minute game to achieve your high score rankings.
Why is it so important?
Your score is somehow related to the multiplier ratio you have. In fact, you can get up to 6x, which i have not get yet, the best i have so far is the 5x multiplier gem.
How to get it?
A multipler gem will only drop if both the conditions are met
- The previous multiplier gem must not appear within the last 10s
- A single swap of tiles which will eliminates 12 or more tiles.
Easy? not so if you look at the rule "A single swap of tiles which will eliminates 12 or more tiles"
Method 1
To use a single swap to eliminate 12 or more tiles, you need to have at least a combo of 4 continuous cascade swaps, (4 x 3) this is extremely difficult and rare, unless your luck is extremely good.
Method 2
However there is a shorter method, use a power gem to clear 9 gems, and pray for a cascading match of 3 gems, which gives you a clearance of 12 gems in a single swap and hence your multiplier gem.

Method 3 (Most effective)
Another more effective method, is to do the reverse of method 2. Instead of doing a power gem clearance, and hope for a cascade match, you match the cascade and ensure the next move will clear a power gem.
Look at the image above, you swap the orange gem on the right with the blue gem at the bottom, what do you get?
The whole row of orange gem will be cleared, the green gem will join and blast off by the power gem which effectively gives you 12 gems clearance in a single move!

As per above image, you swap the green gem on the extreme right with the orange gem under the yellow power gem and you get another clearance of 12 gems! (3 by cascade match of green gems, and 9 by clearing the yellow power gems)

Question... I'm new at this, but don't you have to also knock off the gem with the Number in it to get the multiplier to be applied? In picture above, you have a red jewel #2. Any tips for these? I think these need to be blasted for it to be activated. This is where I have problems as I don't have quick matches that are obvious to make.

ReplyDeleteIf you do not have any matches to clear. Clear the surrounding gems around the multiplier.
Preferably those gems at the bottom or top of the multiplier. this is to allow fresh gems to be drop and increase the chances of a match

He and I are both playing tonight, and I have gotten 104K tonight, and he got 115K shortly after I started playing. Tonight seems a lot easier than previous days, but I'm spending hours on this thing, :) My nephew is a wiz and has far better stats than I have, but I have the highest score at 118500 to his 115100. He lives in Hawaii and I live in the midwest. He has gotten the gold on the 25K and is at levels 4 for 50K and level 2 for 75K and level 1 for 100k. How high up do the levels go?
ReplyDeleteone of my high numbers tonight was 94500 and I got that in the last 15 seconds. The stat screen shows flat lines except for the final line which is way up. I took a camera shot of the page for it just to look at it later. My 104K page showed a power multiplier of 9. So twice getting it that high wasn't bad for me.

Multiplier Gem of 9x? It impossible to hit that number, dude!
As stated in this post, the max multiplier attenatble is only 6x, unless you are... hehe =)
I have been regularly getting over 150k with my highest at 196k. Last wk however my score had dropped to 120k and this wk only 109K. I do not seem to be getting the drops that I used to do, and the gems seem to be slower. Any advice?

Hmm, probably this is due to the random factors of drops in the game which we cant really do anything about it.

ReplyDeleteI am bowing down to my nephew, he just got 220k with 5 multiplier and 2 hypers. So awesome. But I will keep on trying. Going to be a busy 3 weeks, so I'll get back to it.
If I can find my small scan disk adapter for the micro sd, I will post my two pictures of my screen that I'm pretty sure had a 9 multiplier.

Max multiplier has to be at least a 9, since I've got an 8 before, which was near a 9 on the screen which I couldn't get. But these are very rare. Got a 7x tonight, but that's the most I've had in a while. My top score is 465k.

ReplyDeleteMy method for this game is simply to turn the tiles as quickly as possible and get the speed multiplier constantly, and blazing speed as soon as possible, since it's possible to get blazing speed twice in one game if you are very fast and this usually yields a few multipliers.
While taking moves on the right/left I look for moves on the opposite side and take them while the tiles are dropping so there's no downtime.
I also always try to take moves from the lower part of the board since this gives the highest chance of incidental moves when the tiles drop.
I almost totally ignore special gems and multipliers when they drop, as they go as a consequence of playing fast. I consistently get scores of 300k plus. 400k+ is fairly irregular and usually needs a hyper cube or two. 500k or more is usually a once or twice a week occurance and usually needs a hypercube in the first or second move followed by a flowing board and some luck!
Yeah count ne in the "play fast and they will come" camp too. Without a rolling high speed bonus you've had it anyway and my high score is 290k. It IS galling when I miss a 4ball by playing a 3ball I saw first though :-)
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know why when the gold level section zooms in as if you are going to go GOLD - it shoots up to the top and then comes back down starting you basically at nothing?
ReplyDeleteAm I reading right that you have to be on level 5 in order to go gold? I have gold for 25-75k but like for instance, my 100k says level 5 right now and the ratio is 182/250 - does that mean that I need to get 100k 68 more times to get the gold award? i am so confused that I have actually written popcap about this and they have not written back, so I was getting so upset every time I saw that it looked like I was going to get a gold award and then it would shoot back down again.
So, I guess if this is true that means I am about to see my 175k, 200k, and 300k shoot down and start over soon. =(

yes, u need to hit 68 times more to get gold.

Well, this gold system has really not much impact on my game play nor motivation.
Just that i can't play too many games. My addiction will kick in and i will be playing for hours.. that pretty scary :)

And yes, very addicting! I almost made my first 500k last night! 489,600. A friend made his first 500 and by a lot...556...i just don't know how he does it.

To Anonymous above (a late clarification): Notice that on any level that's not gold, you have a level assigned, 1-5. Level 1 is 10 scores, level 2 is 25, and so on up to level 5, which gives you the gold when you complete that level. When your score shoots back down, it just means you've completed one level and they've moved you up to the next one. It just sort of suckers you along...
ReplyDeleteI mentioned this on another thread, but try saving up your coins and buy the multiplier, mystery gem and detonator boosts all at the same time, and detonate them at the beginning of your game.
inquiry; with most of my K's as gold now the 25K,50K etc. Do they go back to level 1 at all so can have another crack at them? Or do all have to be gold before this may happen its hard enough to get 300K let alone 500K. Love bejeweled its my favourite.

ReplyDeleteBut it's all gone wrong, multiplier-wise, since that stupid boosts & coins update. Used to be guaranteed a multiplier if you hit one of those gems that take out a line in either direction, cos that adds up to 15 gems. Now it sometimes happens and sometimes doesn't. I had a game with 3 of those gems, several exploding ones and 2 of the ones that remove all gems of one colour, and I had no multipliers at all. I was not pleased.
Also the 10 second rule no longer applies. I've had 2 multipliers appear in one cascade. They seem to award multipliers completely at random which has ruined the game. I emailed them and got a generic reply. Apparently popcap don't care about their customers who have been playing Bejeweled since long before facebook had it.

This post is incorrect, you do not have to wait 10 seconds since the last multiplier gems (though there is a delay--pretty sure it's 5 seconds). I have hit 8x and a resulting score of 577,000 and don't doubt that it would be possible to hit 9x. Technically, if you play your jewels perfectly, it you could get up to 11x or 12x
ReplyDeleteYou get multiplier gems by clearing many gems at the same time, hence the reason they allways drop when you swap a star gem. I'm not sure a single fire gem swap does em but the best way i get them is to get to blazing speed and then swap a fire gem and you allways get one, my highest score is 648,000 and that was on a x13 multiplier.
